CAD Technician

Job Description

We are looking for a CAD Technician to join the engineering production office.

Your duties will include:

Daily use of; 3D design software Autodesk Inventor, 2D AutoCAD and Lantek nesting software.

Creation of new and improvement of existing 3D models, with emphasis on the manufacturing best practices and capacities of the shop floor.

Creation of DXF flat patterns for CNC profiling.

Creation of 2D drawings at part, sub assembly and general assembly level with emphasis on clarity for the shop floor engineers.

Site visits to carry out detailed surveys from which to create 3D models, manufacturing drawings and flat patterns.

Working as part of a team, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards remain high.

Feeding back information and suggestions to management for continuous improvement in the business and its processes.

Working to high professional standards in keeping with the company’s accreditation’s – ISO 9001 quality standards and BS EN 1090 execution class 2 welding and CE marking standards.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have served a full apprenticeship up to minimum level 3.

Enjoy performing to the best standards they can in a modern engineering environment.

Autodesk Inventor Professional 3D software experience is essential.

2D AutoCAD and Lantek experience would be desirable but not essential.

The benefits

GRC offer a competitive £30,000 to £40,000 salary, depending on experience and interview.

Full nest pension with company contributions.

Sheetmetal Worker / Steel Fabricator

Job Description

We are looking for sheet metal workers and steel fabricators to join the family business. Your duties will include:

Use of traditional and CNC sheet metal and steel working machinery – in house training provided if required.

TIG and MIG welding of stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium – coding will be provided.

Use of fork lift trucks and overhead cranes – in house training provided if required.

Working from technical drawings to tight tolerances.

Working as part of a team, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards remain high.

Feeding back information and suggestions to management for continuous improvement in the business and its processes.

Working to high professional standards in keeping with the company’s accreditation’s – ISO 9001 quality standards and BS EN 1090 execution class 2 welding and CE marking standards.

Mentoring our apprentices and setting the best examples to them regarding attitude to work, technical skills and best practices.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have served a full apprenticeship up to level 3, enjoy performing to the best standards they can in a modern engineering environment. Will be hard working and take pride in their work and the success of the company. Be keen to further develop themselves and their skill set with further opportunities available within the company for the right people.

GRC offer a competitive £14 per hour starting rate with time-and-a-half overtime regularly available.
